Civ 4 Colonization Features

We have looked a bit closer at what Civilization 4 – Colonization will bring to the table for the Civ 4 player. Here are some of the highlights. Colonization is the third expansion for Civ 4, before we have Warlords and Beyond the Sword.
The special feature is that you do not need Civ 4 to play Colonization, because Colonization will be a completely new playstyle, where you start a colony in the new world far away from your motherland, and fight for freedom and riches. It is very inspired by the old Colonization-game, built on top of the Civilization 4-engine.
The four lands you can start with is English, Spanish, Dutch and French. Diplomacy will be important as you meet the natives, other colonies and negotiate with the homeland. Founding fathers like John Smith and Samuel Adams will help your nation to reach the top.
The new interface will be a completely new interface, but Civ 4 players will probably not get lost. However, you do not need to have knowledge of the Civ 4 interface to master the Colonization interface. The game is expeced in late September 2008.
